They're both CVT lol. My manual days are behind me. Its been 20 years since I've had one. Believe it or not, you get used to the jankiness of the CVT7. I can anticipate how much throttle to keep it smooth most of the time and the high and low gears do ok.

So I take over the G4 and the ole ball n chain gets the Prius.
Does your mom know about all this? Is she cool with driving a small car like a Mirage?

She doesn't know yet. I want to surprise her. She's familiar with our Mirages and has commented she really likes the G4, but I know with all the art shows she does she needs the utlility of the hatch.

First fight is over Prius vs. Mirage! That's probably a good sign.

For a second I thought about selling mine but it doesn't owe me a dime. And what would I replace it with, something used that gets worse mileage and possibly be another nickle and dime-mobile.

I'll likely keep the Mirage until the cvt craps out and probably splurge the extra $500 and throw a low mileage engine at the same time and make it go for another 300,000kms easily. Or until the kids start driving and smash it up to the point of it not being salvageable.

I'm pretty tempted to put a sign in mine. But then I'd have to clean it [I haven't touched it since I got it]. Too many projects!

    Buy low!

    Sell high!

Seems like we are in that second phase!

High Mirage prices just make me appreciate what I have. I bought a new Mirage, because I knew I could pay it off in a year or less. I am hoping to go the next 10 years with no vehicle purchases (or car payments).

I rather own property & buy other things.

Don't give Dirk any reason to give a new meaning to how to sell a car. Dirk, this is not referencing cigaweed.

Smart. I'm about to become a landlord. We'll see how I like it. Probably won't.
