This mirror is exclusively for the 2024 SE hatchback

USA 2024 SE hatchback specifically. Idk about Canada.

Just an observation as I have never knew this until I paid close attention.

Not even the USA 24 SE hatchback factory window sticker had mentioned it as a feature nor option nor the 24 USA G4 SE has it. I have checked the USA SE for model year 2021, 2022, and 2023 and all had manual mirror. Quirk I guess?

I haven’t seen a 2024 yet but we have a 2023se and GT. I’ll have to take a look. I think the se is manual. The windshield are different for the 21+ and they’re hard to find aftermarket. If you have the lane departure or collision avoidance deal then the days of $200 windshield replacements are long gong.

In which case it this mirror 'not manual'? What does it do?

I guess what was meant by manual is you need to turn the knob or lever not to be blinded by the lights of the car behind you while with the mirror in pictures it's auto-dimmed. I will try to find one and swap with my "manual" one

How much would you expect the new windshields to cost?
I have the collision avoidance thing on mine.

The company that installs our windshields managed to get the only aftermarket one in Canada a few month ago(at the time). I can't remember what it cost, about double the cost of a normal one. Dealer wanted over $1000. Then you're supposed to have the camera calibrated after replacing the windshield. We couldn't even source an aftermarket windshield for the 2023 SE model that only has a rain sensor bracket. Dealer only for that one at over $1000. Might be able to find one now though.

Wow, that is expensive. Hopefully if I need it insurance will cover it

I wonder if someone sells a wiring kit to use the mirror power supply for a dash cam like they do with other cars.
